Privacy Policy

This policy describes the information collected during a visit to Atchison County Criminal History, why it is used, and the limited cases in which another party may receive it. Continued use of the website signals acceptance of these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or place entered into a search tool is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. We do not keep or log those query terms on our systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email may be retained long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.

Data We Gather Automatically

Our servers receive basic technical details when a page loads:

  • The IP address assigned to your device
  • Which browser you are using and its version
  • Your device type and operating system
  • The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
  • The site that sent you here, if any
  • Timestamps for each page view

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files stored on a device. They and analytics services help combine traffic data, such as which pages are used most and where visits end. Browser controls can block cookies, although parts of the website may then work differently.

What We Do With This Data

  • Sending a requested search to the relevant partner service
  • Maintaining performance and keeping pages available
  • Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
  • Understanding which content visitors use
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

Atchison County Criminal History does not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to the Circuit Clerk, Sheriff/Jail, Missouri State Highway Patrol CJIS Central Repository, and Missouri Sex Offender Registry. Public-office access in Missouri is governed in part by the Missouri Sunshine Law, Chapter 610 RSMo, while §43.530 RSMo controls dissemination from the state criminal-history repository. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or dossiers about other people.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by that provider's policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its retention and disclosure practices, so review its terms before entering a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Atchison County offices, Missouri agencies, courts, legal resources, or outside tools. Once a visitor leaves this website, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.

Advertising companies may track activity across websites to select ads. Such tracking occurs through their services and systems.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:

  • Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
  • Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
  • Ad networks that place ads on our pages
  • Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected data. No internet system can be guaranteed secure, however, and we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If such data is identified, a request may be made for its deletion.

Your Data Rights

Rights may vary by residence. Missouri consumer-protection law, including the Missouri Merchandising Practices Act, Chapter 407 RSMo, may apply to certain practices. A visitor may ask to:

  • Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
  • Have us fix information that is wrong
  • Request that we erase your data
  • Opt out of certain kinds of data processing

Updates to This Policy

This privacy policy may be revised. An updated version will appear here with its new effective date, and continued use will be subject to that posted version.
